Transitioning to my current role, I’m Heval Mehta, and my diverse career journey has spanned Telecom, Retail, Real Estate, and HR, leading me to my position as the Managing Director & CEO of World Development Corporation (WDC) and the Directors’ Institute – World Council of Directors. With over two decades in the industry, I’ve been dedicated to introducing new ideas and fostering growth in every field I’ve engaged with.
At WDC and the Directors’ Institute, my main goal is to look forward and bring new innovations that not only predict the future but also help shape it. My mission is to use the latest technology and business strategies to improve lives, make things more sustainable, and overall, just make life better for people everywhere. We’re all about creating real value, growing the economy, helping society, and being kind to our planet.
I believe technology can truly change lives. That’s why at WDC, we’re working hard to change the way people live for the better, bringing new efficiencies that make life easier. It’s not just about new tech; it’s about making meaningful changes.
Together with my team, we dive deep to understand what people need and how we can deliver that most innovatively and effectively possible. It’s not just about thinking big; it’s about real commitment to making things better for everyone, everywhere.
I’ve always been clear about the importance of balancing making money with being socially and environmentally responsible. Every day, I make sure our projects reflect this balance, whether it’s through sustainable practices or using technology to help society. It’s all about making a lasting positive impact.
Starting from Tech Mahindra to now leading WDC and the Directors’ Institute has been an incredible journey. It’s been full of learning, adapting, and always pushing for what’s next. And we’re just getting started. There’s so much more we can do, and I’m excited to lead the way, innovate, and help inspire future leaders and changemakers.

Learning has always been at the heart of my success story. Like Warren Buffett says, “The more you learn, the more you earn,” and I live by that. My journey in education, especially getting my MBA, has really shaped who I am as a leader and keeps my passion for learning alive.
Yet, my educational journey doesn’t end here. I’m presently pursuing a Ph.D. in Sales and Marketing, and it’s far more than just pursuing a degree. It’s about immersing myself deeper into the subjects, innovating in the fields of marketing, sales, and leadership. This path is about applying my learnings to effect real change, fueling creativity in leadership, and ensuring every decision I make contributes to something impactful.

My leadership journey began with a strong sense of initiative and unwavering dedication. Unlike many, I wasn’t appointed; I stepped up, embracing leadership with an eagerness to tackle challenges head-on. This self-motivated decision set me on an unstoppable path of growth and learning. Starting with a modest team of five at Tech Mahindra, I not only led but also consistently performed at the top, embodying the dual role of a mentor and a high achiever with immense pride.
Tech Mahindra was not just a stepping stone but a pivotal chapter where my leadership potential was nurtured and recognized. It was there I learned the essence of being a leader—balancing firm guidance with empathy, striving for precision and timely delivery, and instilling in my team the values of aiming high while staying grounded. This experience was instrumental in shaping my philosophy that leadership transcends personal achievements; it’s about creating a culture where excellence and compassion coexist, motivating others to surpass their potential.
As I transitioned from leading a small team to co-founding my own company, my journey was marked by a relentless quest for knowledge and the drive to innovate.
